Langford Heathfield is a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest at Langford Budville. The common, as it is known in the area, is a fascinating nature reserve that is the home to a wide variety of wildlife and vegetation, as a plant survey carried out in 2012 has proved. It is also a glorious place to wander as can be discovered if you take a walk on Langford Heathfield.
Most of this Somerset Wildlife Trust reserve was purchased in 1982 with Coram's wood and Lucas's Copse added in 1985. The purchases were generously assisted by World Wide Fund for Nature, the Countryside Agency, English Nature, Taunton Deane Borough Council, Somerset County Council and the Royal Society for Nature Conservation.
