Round About is a community magazine, and replaced the parish magazine that had been produced by St Peter’s Church for many years. The first edition came out on 1 February 2014 and from then until December 2015 a copy came out on the first of the month throughout the year, with the exception of January.
The magazine is run, designed and mainly written by a small and enthusiastic editorial team, all of whom are volunteers. We all enjoy working on the magazine and are proud of its success, but it is extremely time consuming so, after much discussion, the decision was made to produce it bi-monthly from 2016 with each edition covering two months, February/March, April/May, June/July and so on. There is more information on the changes in the November 2015 edition.
There is a certain amount of time sensitive information such as church service rotas, forthcoming events, and important local issues, which will suffer with a bi-monthly magazine. To overcome this problem we are producing a mono 4 page A5 leaflet in the intervening months, excluding January, i.e. in March, May, July, September and November. It is called 'Round About in Brief' and will be distributed in the same way as the magazine. It won't carry commercial advertising.
Round About magazine is supported by the Parish Council and fully financed by its advertising, which covers the cost of printing and other expenses. Because of this it is possible to print 300 copies which are delivered free of charge by volunteer distributors to every household in the Parish.
I hope you enjoy reading the magazine: please don't hesitate to contact us with you ideas for articles and news at email@example.com.
